Where every child is known, challenged and supported to be lifelong learners.

Dear Parents and Friends,

Grandparents and Grandfriends Day

What a wonderful celebration we had on Friday 1st August! Brigid Hall was filled to the brim with joy, laughter and over 150 grandparents and special friends. It was such a pleasure to welcome so many Grandmas, Grandpas, Pops, Yayas, Omas, Opas, Nonnas, Nannas, and other much-loved family members.

A huge congratulations to our Year 5 students who began the morning with a beautiful and heartfelt liturgy. They spoke so confidently, and their words truly showed how much we love our ‘grandies’. Thank you to all the parents who sent in photos — the slideshow was a touching tribute and brought a few happy tears to many eyes.

Families then came together to enjoy a Kahoot quiz and a lovely drawing activity. You’re welcome to visit the school office to see the beautiful artwork on display!

The morning ended with a lovely morning tea, where our guests had the chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones. The school was buzzing, and the smiles on the children’s faces as they proudly showed their guests around were infectious.

A special moment — Charlotte D’s grandmother and I discovered a shared connection: she attended the same school my sons did in Crib Point on the Mornington Peninsula (a few years earlier, of course!).

Here’s what some of our guests had to say:

As always, St Brigid’s put on a wonderful morning for us to share with our beautiful grandchildren.”

“What great activities we shared with our grandchildren.”

“Thank you for the amazing opportunity to connect with both our grandchildren and the wider St Brigid’s community.”

Thank you to Jodie for organising such a memorable morning.

100 Days of Foundation & Camp Experience

Our Foundation students celebrated a very special milestone — 100 Days of School! Dressed as 100-year-olds, students and staff enjoyed a fun-filled day of activities.

Some highlights:

  • Reading and decorating 100 words for a classroom display

  • Making 100-bead necklaces

  • Playing old-fashioned games like sack races, egg and spoon races, drop the hankie and quoits

  • Enjoying “camp” snacks including fairy bread, dinosaur nuggets, and a gorgeous fruit platter

  • Sharing a cake and certificate ceremony with families to end the day

A big thank you to all the staff who helped make this day so special — what a fantastic memory for our youngest students!

NAPLAN Results

We are incredibly proud of our Year 3 and 5 students for their outstanding achievements in this year’s NAPLAN assessments.

  • 77% of students were in the strong and exceeding proficiency range across all five areas: Reading, Writing, Spelling, Numeracy, and Grammar.

  • A remarkable 90% of students in both year levels achieved strong or exceeding in Writing.

While NAPLAN provides valuable data, we remind families that it represents just one snapshot in time. At St Brigid’s, we use a range of assessments to support and track student growth.

A sincere thank you to our dedicated staff who continue to deliver high-quality teaching and focus on the growth of every child.

Carpark Safety Reminder

A reminder to all families: please do not park in the staff driveway when dropping off or collecting children, including from TheirCare or for appointments. This blocks access and creates unsafe conditions on the road. Please use designated parking bays or the disabled spot if needed. Please do not park in or over neighbours driveways. Thank you for helping keep everyone safe.

Child Safety Commitment

The safety and wellbeing of our students is our top priority.  In light of recent national news, we want to reaffirm our commitment to rigorous recruitment, ongoing training, and a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse.

If you have any concerns or questions regarding child safety, please speak with me or any member of our Leadership Team. Your voice matters.
