                  Smart Watches at School

We understand there has been some confusion regarding the use of smart watches at school. To clarify, all smart watches must be handed into the office each day, just like mobile phones.

 

For the purpose of our school policy, mobile phones include any device that can make or receive calls, send messages, access the internet, or take photos. This includes smart watches with these capabilities, even if they are set to ‘school mode’, have lockout periods enabled, or have had a sim card removed.

 

Please note:

  • All smart watches and mobile phones must be switched off and handed into the school administration office upon arrival.
  • Devices will be securely stored and can be collected at the end of the school day.
  • Students are not permitted to use these devices during the school day, including at recess or lunch.
  • Devices with photo or video capabilities, aside from school-approved iPads, are not permitted in classrooms or learning spaces.
