Last Friday’s Athletics Carnival was a fantastic day filled with energy, enthusiasm, and school spirit. It was wonderful to see all students giving their best effort across every event—whether they were sprinting down the track, soaring through the long jump, or cheering on their peers from the sidelines.

There were some truly outstanding individual performances and strong results across the board, with students showcasing not only athletic ability but also teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship throughout the day.

A huge congratulations goes to Avoca House, who were the overall winners of the carnival! Their determination, team spirit, and consistency across all events helped them secure a well-deserved victory.

Thank you to all staff, volunteers, and supporters who helped make the day such a success. We look forward to building on this momentum in future sporting events!

What's been happening in Year 8:

Art:

Students have studied some of the Fauves artists and their painting techniques. They designed and created their own piece using bold and bright colours. Many students experienced painting on a canvas board for the first time.

English:

The Year 8’s have been working on Critical Media Literacy in English. They have been exploring the three rhetorical appeals of Ethos, Pathos and Logos, and have used this knowledge to create their own advertisements to persuade an audience.
