Parent Opinion Survey

The 2025 Parent, Caregiver and Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 18 August to Friday 19 September 2025. This survey is an important opportunity for families to share their thoughts and experiences with the school. It focuses on key areas such as school climate, how the school involves the community in learning, teaching practices that support student engagement and outcomes, and views on school attendance. Feedback from the survey helps the school understand what is working well and where improvements can be made. Families will be sent details closer to the 18th August.

Attendance

Regular school attendance is vital for student success. Everyday counts, and missing school means missing out on important learning opportunities. Consistent attendance helps students stay engaged, achieve better academic outcomes and build strong social connections. However, if your child is sick, it is important that they stay home to rest and recover, and to prevent the spread of illness to other students and staff. If your child needs to be absent, I kindly ask that you inform the school.

Centre for Higher Education Studies (CHES)

Leigh had his orientation session for his CHES program Monday in Melbourne. After getting over the initial feeling of intimidation, turning up alone, while others were in groups, Leigh thoroughly enjoyed his day. He met his teacher and will undertake online sessions of a Tuesday after school.  Leigh is very much looking forward to beginning the program.

Students in Years 9 to 11 and VM students were involved in the Road Smart program Tuesday. Road Smart Interactive reflects contemporary, best-practice approaches to road safety education. It utilises the latest immersive technology to guide students through a series of experiences that will engage students in thinking about how they can be part of the solution to eliminating road trauma.

During the session students explored safe vehicles, safe speeds, safe roads and how to use roads safely. This was done by adding safety features to roads and vehicles and by taking a virtual tour through time on the roads.

Mathematics Competition

Students in Years 4 to 11 are sitting the Mathematics Competition this week. Year 10 students sat their test Tuesday.
