Safety, Respect and Learning

Safe Driving on School Grounds

We continue to observe some unsafe driving behaviours from a small number of parents and carers, including speeding and failing to show courtesy during drop-off and pick-up times. While we understand that weather conditions or running late can be contributing factors, these actions pose a serious risk to the safety of our students, staff, and other families.

We ask all drivers to please follow the rules, be patient, and respect staff members who may signal you to slow down or stop. This is for everyone's safety.

If unsafe driving continues, those responsible may be restricted from entering school grounds.

Let’s work together to keep our school community safe.

Yesterday we gathered for our Coffee and Connect morning at Balla Balla Community Centre. We were very fortunate to have our school nurse, Erica McWilliams as our guest speaker. She discussed various topics that we, as parents, may need to support our parenting capacity.

We enjoyed lots of new learning, conversation and connecting over home baked raspberry cake and fresh jam scones with cream.

Some of the topics Erica discussed have support links below. Please access as required and if you have any further questions, please let me know.

Our next Coffee and Connect is Thursday 4th September in the Staffroom at St Thomas the Apostle PS. (onsite)

Topic: The value of parent networks & building positive relationships.

Coffee machine and morning tea provided.

Kindest regards,

Jen Gulavin (Deputy Principal-Inclusive Education).
