Religious Education Focus – Term 3

This term will continue to be rich in faith-filled opportunities for our students as we continue to grow together as a Catholic learning community. We look forward to celebrating two significant feast days this term that help bring our faith learning to life.

On August 8th, our Year 3 and 4 students will lead us in a Mass for the Feast of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop, Australia’s first saint. Mary MacKillop’s message to “never see a need without doing something about it” continues to guide the way we care for others in our school and wider community.

On August 15th, our Year 5 and 6 students will attend Mass for the Feast of the Assumption, reflecting on Mary’s (Jesus' Mother) special place in our faith story and her role as a model of hope and trust in God. Families are warmly invited to join us for this Mass.

These occasions offer our students meaningful opportunities to connect with the lives of two remarkable women and consider how their example can inspire us in our own daily lives. As always families are warmly invited to celebrate the Eucharist with us on these day.

We also hold in prayer the many children across our school who are preparing to receive their First Eucharist. This is a very special time for them, their families, and our parish. It's been heartening to see this large group learning, praying, and practising together and supported by both home and school. We thank all families for their continued commitment.

Our Religious Education learning across the school this term has been launched through the lens of our Pilgrims of Hope theme. Each level has begun exploring the inquiry “Fuel for the Journey,” encouraging students to consider what sustains us, physically, emotionally, and spiritually as we move through life. This links meaningfully with our broader work in healthy eating and wellbeing, reminding students that our faith, values, and community nourish us just as much as the food we eat.

We are proud of the way students are engaging with these rich ideas and experiences.

Thank you for your support in helping them live and grow in faith each day. Have a wonderful weekend.
