What a wonderful surprise
Even though I wasn’t at school to celebrate Principal’s Day this year, I still felt incredibly special. Throughout the day, students created beautiful cards and messages filled with kind words and colourful pictures. These thoughtful creations are now proudly displayed in my office, and they bring a smile to my face every time I see them.
I feel so privileged to be part of a school with such caring and thoughtful students and staff, and I truly appreciate the support our families give to their children, the staff, and myself.
Book Week Performance
We’re excited to be start celebrating Book Week with a very special performance for our students!
On Tuesday 12th August, all students will enjoy a live production that brings to life an engaging and meaningful story about courage, cooperation, and connection.
The performance follows Jess, who lives by the ocean, and George, who lives in the forest. One morning, they each wake to discover something important is missing from their world. Determined to find it, the two set off on a quest that leads them through unexpected challenges. Along the way, they must learn to overcome their differences and work together and with the help of an unexpected ally, they just might succeed.
This rich and thoughtful performance promises to spark wonderful conversations about values, teamwork, and the power of stories, it will be the perfect way to celebrate Book Week!
Behaviour Matrix
Over the past two weeks, our school-wide focus has been on the value of Respect. Teachers and students have been exploring what respect looks like both in learning spaces and in outdoor spaces. Through class discussions, role-plays, and examples from daily school life. Students have been encouraged to reflect on how they show respect to their peers, teachers, learning spaces, equipment, and the school environment.
These lessons are part of our Behaviour Matrix, which outlines our core expectations and what they look like across different areas of the school. By teaching these behaviours explicitly, we’re supporting students in understanding how to be respectful and responsible members of our school community.
We’ll continue to focus on and celebrate positive behaviours throughout the term. Thank you for supporting our efforts to build a strong, respectful, and inclusive school culture.
Tree Grant
As mentioned a few weeks ago, Albion North Primary School was selected to receive trees through the 2025 Trees for Schools Program. At the beginning of this term, we received our trees along with protective tree-planting shields.
In a fun and meaningful project led by Miss Sarah during Middle School and Senior School Art Classes, students have been busy designing and decorating the protective shields that will soon surround the newly planted trees across our school grounds.
These shields, which help protect young trees as they grow, have been transformed into amazing works of art. Each one is uniquely decorated with colourful patterns.
Once all the shields are complete, we’ll begin planting the trees around the school with the help of some of our wonderful students, of course!
