Preps

Wow! What a special couple of weeks it has been in the Prep rooms. Both rooms have been buzzing with eager learners who have amazed both Andrew and my-self with their forever growing minds of knowledge of concepts and thirst for learning. As we come closer to the end of the term, students will be using all they have learnt in Reading and Writing to produce their very first project. Our main focus has been on what an information report is and what are the elements incorporated in one such as, headings, labels, introducing new vocabulary and the difference between fact and opinion. This will be heavily guided to ensure everyone feels successful, but we have confidence in everyone that they will find success in their own way. Both Andrew and I have been blown away with the hard work everyone has put into Maths over the last couple of weeks. Your child's ability to understand numbers is increasing and making us so excited for the additional experiences and concepts we can expose the students to. The more they are exposed to how we can represent numbers in different ways is a huge part of building the fundamental building blocks as they move further up in school. A huge thank you to everyone who dressed up for our annual Book Week Adventures and a special thank you to the parents and carers who helped make your children feel part of such a special day. Everyone looked amazing! A highlight of our day was coming together with our buddies to find Where's Wally characters hiding in the school grounds. At the end of the day our buddies also helped all Preps become part of the front cover that they were dressed up as. This was a lovely moment, with Preps thinking we had conducted a magic trick to make them famous.
