Principal's Report

Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey and is seeking your feedback. The survey, offered by the Department of Education, is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. Your opinions are important to us and will contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies. The department of education will use the results from the survey for research purposes and to improve outcomes for students.
The survey will be conducted online and only takes 20 minutes to complete. It can be completed on any internet enabled device (desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone) and is compatible with most browsers. The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 18 August to Friday 19 September 2025.
Please see the Compass message sent to all families with a letter containing details regarding how to log on safely to complete the survey. Thanks everyone for your support.
We all enjoyed a great Children's Book Week with a celebration of book characters visiting us last Friday. Thank you to our parents and carers for your behind the scenes work helping to organise and create some great outfits.
Well done to our year 3 to 6 students who attended the recent Athletics carnival at Bendigo. We always receive such great feedback regarding our student's behaviour, effort and attitude at these events. Poppy F, Emma, Lucy, Abigail and Kaylee will be moving to the next level to compete in the Division Track & Field Athletics in Bendigo on Monday 15th September. We wish the girls the best of luck.
LPS School Council and Student Council are excited to let you know that we will be holding our LPS stall at the upcoming Lancefield Agricultural Show on Sunday 20th of October. We are asking families to kindly donate some prizes for one of our activities, our old-fashioned Lucky Dip.
We are asking for small prizes between $2-$5 in value. Items can include but are not limited to:
Downballs
Stickers
Fidgets
Chocolate/Treats
Stationery
Stamps
Small toys
Small pieces of jewellery/charms
Bubbles
Hair ties/clips
Toy cars
Key rings
Temporary tattoos
Yo’yo/slinky
A box will be set up in the office for donations. The prizes for the Lucky Dip can be purchased brand new or donations from home (that are in excellent condition only please)
We will also be asking for donations to support our “Pick A Prize” competition. Last year we had a fabulous array of vouchers and items donated from a large range of local businesses and organisations and we will be seeking this support again in 2025.
To make this event run smoothly we will be looking for parent/carer support on the day to assist with running the stall. Please contact the office to let us know your availability. We appreciate time being put aside on this day to support our school community.
Further information and reminders will be posted on Compass as the show draws nearer.
