Year 1

Year 1 have been very busy these past 2 weeks. We have been working hard on our writing and using commas correctly in our written work. We have loved reading the book The Black Book of Colour by  Menena Cottin and Boy by Phil Cummings.

In Religion we have been focusing on our Father’s Day liturgy.

Year 1 have had a big focus on being able to walk into the classroom quickly and more importantly, quietly. They are becoming much better at completing this expectation

In Maths, we’ve been looking at addition and subtraction. It was incredible to hear the students explain their thinking. There are so many ways to solve these Maths problems!

Just a reminder about glue and tissues. Please ask your child if they are in need of glue sticks for the class room and if you did not bring in tissues at the start of the year now would be a very useful time.  ‘

Thank you

Year 1 Teachers.
