Book Week Parade – Thank You, Families!

What a wonderful Book Week Parade we had at St Thomas! A huge thank you to all our parents and carers who helped get the children ready for this special day. We know mornings are busy, and pulling together a costume can take extra time and effort – but it was so worth it.

The children absolutely loved showing off their characters, swapping stories with their friends, and stepping into the shoes of their favourite book heroes and heroines. The parade was filled with colour, creativity, smiles, and plenty of laughter. Many of our students could proudly explain who they were dressed as and why they had chosen that character – such a beautiful celebration of imagination and the love of books.

Events like these help nurture a lifelong love of reading, and we are so proud of the way our students are growing as learners. It was also wonderful to see so many parents and family members come along to cheer the children on. Your support means so much. Who knows – maybe next year we’ll even give out prizes for the best-dressed parents!

Next Whole School Event: Father’s Day

Our next big community celebration will be our Father’s Day event on Friday 5th September 8.30 - 9.30am.

We warmly invite all dads, grandfathers, uncles, and anyone who plays a fatherly role in a child’s life to join us on site.

This year, each class will share a short dance with their visitors – and then invite the dads (and other special guests) to get up and have a go themselves! It promises to be lots of fun, with plenty of laughs along the way.

We’ll also provide some savoury breakfast nibbles and juice to keep everyone fuelled for the morning.

At St Thomas the Apostle, we know our dads will be *curious to learn* and *courageous enough to join in* – modelling the same spirit of joy and openness we encourage in our children.

We can’t wait to see lots of you there – and to see some dads (and father-figures) show off their dance moves!
