Bullying No Way: National Action Week

As part of Bullying No Way:National Action Week, our Year 5/6 students participated in two engaging incursions focused on the important theme of standing up against bullying. Throughout the sessions, students explored how to navigate uncomfortable situations, developed strategies for being upstanders, and learned where, how, and who to seek help from when needed.

They also learned about the different forms of bullying behaviour and discussed the important idea that bullying is not a person, but a behaviour—something that can be recognised and changed.

A key focus was the importance of consent in online interactions, an essential topic in today's digital world. To consolidate their learning, students created thoughtful and creative social media style posts, capturing the key messages and personal reflections from the week.

It was an empowering experience that encouraged empathy, awareness, and positive action in both online and real world spaces.

Book Week

Book Week 2025 is next week!

On Tuesday 19th August at 9:00 am we will celebrate Book Week by coming to school

dressed up as a character from our favourite books!

The theme for this year is ... 'Book an Adventure'.

This year also marks the 80th anniversary of children's book week. There are lots of great ideas online for outfits that don’t cost anything and are easy to create.

Please let your teacher or me know if you'd like some ideas.

We can't wait to celebrate our love for reading and our love of characters.

St Michael’s Friendship Garden-To celebrate ‘Friendship Day’ last week, the students each created a painted a rock depicting what friendship means to them. I was so impressed with their creativity and ability to draw such fine details. The rocks have now been arranged to form a beautiful ‘Friendship Garden’ for all to look at and enjoy.💙💜💛
