A Message from Keir and Emma

“We would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people, the first people to dream, create, wonder, dance, play and learn on this breathtaking land. This land was cared for and respected for tens of thousands of years. The First Nations people lived in companionship with the animals and the life on this land. We acknowledge that this is stolen land and we pay our respects to elders, past, present and emerging.”

Annual Public Meeting

On Thursday, our school leaders met with a group of parents/carers and guardians to share data from 2024 and talk about how that data has influenced our current thinking and direction.

The leadership team talked through our 2024 Annual Report to the School Community, which will soon be available on our website. If you would like to read through a copy of the Annual Report you can find one here. If you would like to ask questions or make comments about what you read in the report, we would love you to enter these into this Google form, and we will do our best to work through answers in newsletters across the remainder of the year.

Book Week

A huge thank you to the members of our community who joined us for the ‘Sharing Writing’ session of our 2025 Writers Festival.  We will share more information (as well as some amazing writing!) in our next newsletter.

Thank you also to families who came along and supported the great book swap this afternoon. What a great start to book week!

Our book week celebrations continue on Thursday with our dress up day and parade at 9am on the Basketball court.

Sports Day

Although last week's 3-6 Sports Day may not have followed the format that it usually does, the day was a huge success. The team and individual spirit was running high with many students achieving goals and personal bests. It was wonderful to see the way that our students supported each other through both their successes and their challenges. A true representation of the supportive community that BNWPS is.

Thank you to Max (our amazing PE teacher) and to the members of the community who were able to donate their time and effort on the day. It was hugely appreciated!

Boite Choir Performance

What a busy week it was at BNWPS last week! Our Boite Choir performed on stage at Melbourne Town Hall in a combined choir made up of students from a wide variety of schools around Melbourne. The choir enthusiastically sang songs and told stories of Timor-Leste, and it was wonderful to watch their dedication and hard work pay off onstage.

Thanks to Bek and Jacob who gave up their time to work with the Boite Chorus.

We wonder what next week will bring at BNWPS!
