Supporting Wellbeing: Year 11 Education Sessions on Respect, Health, and Help-Seeking
Over the past few weeks, our Year 11 students have participated in a series of engaging and thought-provoking education sessions hosted by the school nurse and mental health practitioner designed to support their health, wellbeing, and emotional development as they move through senior school and into young adulthood.
These sessions covered three key areas: Respectful Relationships & Consent, General Health & Wellbeing, and Help-Seeking Strategies. Each topic was delivered with sensitivity and relevance to teenage life, aiming to equip students with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions and support themselves and others.
We’re proud of the thoughtful and mature way Year 11 students engaged with these sessions. These are challenging but essential conversations that help prepare our young people for life beyond school with empathy, self-awareness, and respect.
We encourage families to continue these conversations at home and reach out to the school’s wellbeing team if further support is needed.

THRIVE is about helping young people grow, connect, and develop skills that support them now and in the future.
Shake Workshop
Recently, a select group of Year 8 boys had the opportunity to visit Shake Counselling Headquarters as part of their involvement in the Shake Workshop 8 week school program.
During the workshop, the students explored how to recognise signs of poor mental health in themselves and others, how to offer support to a friend who may be struggling, and the importance of reaching out for help when needed. They also practised how to start these important conversations and learned strategies for maintaining a healthy headspace.
The workshop provided a safe and supportive environment for open discussion, self-reflection, and skill-building empowering students with tools to look after their wellbeing and support their peers.
Bunji Program Update
This week the Bunji program started with a calming and fun bubble-blowing activity, designed to help students slow their breathing and regulate their emotions and bodies. This simple yet effective mindfulness technique set the tone for deeper emotional learning.
Once students felt calm and grounded, the group began exploring the concept of negative self-talk and learning how to replace it with positive self-talk strategies that support confidence and emotional wellbeing.
It has been truly rewarding to see the students fully engaged in child-led play, showing kindness, respect, and cooperation as they share and interact with one another. Already, the group has welcomed some brave contributions and meaningful conversations, demonstrating the safe and supportive space Bunji is creating for our students.
We look forward to seeing their growth continue in the weeks ahead!
