What an adventure!

Staff and student across K-6 well and truly embraced the 2025 Bookweek theme 'Book an Adventure'. Despite the weather causing some last minute adjustments to festivities, spirits were high as characters from across the literary world were out and about on parade.

Special thanks to our amazing community for their help in organising, setting up and working with their children to make the day a festival of vibrant colour and joy-filled excitement. What a privilege it is to share books, stories, and see our kids shine as they explore a world filled with adventure.

Primary State Athletics - Raining Quality!

On Friday, Week 4, Term 3, nine students from Years 3-6 headed to Blacktown International Park Athletics Stadium to compete in the 2025 CSSA Primary State Athletics Event.

Wet weather meant that conditons were less than ideal for all the competitors with water laying on the track and making circles and runways slippery. Our students' enthusiam was not dampened, as they 'brought their A Game' trying their hardest in all areas of competition.

There were some terrific individual performances from Ben N, Cameron C, Olivia F and Matilda P all competing in throwing events. Ben threw a PB of 17.39m. Cameron threw shot put 7.26m, which was 13cm further than at zone.

Matilda managed to throw a personal best of about 1.4m in discus registering almost 21 metres for her second place finish. She has now qualified for CIS (Combined Independent Schools) level at Sydney's Athletics Centre at Olympic Park in Homebush on 5 September.

Elijah J-C and Taj G both competed in multiple disciplines on the day, Elijah shaved 0.3 of a second off his previous fastest time in his 200m event. Taj ran his 200m 0.7 seconds faster than at zone. Beth D finished in 6th place for her 100m event knocking 0.35 seconds off her PB. Sam K and Liam K made great strides in their track events.

We're so proud of all of you for making it to this elite level of competition.

Thanks to all of the parents and grandparents who made the trip to Western Sydney to cheers on your children. Your dedication, support and care are very much appreciated.

Serving Up Success: Next stop Perth for the Australian Youth Volleyball Championships

Jesse started his volleyball career playing with his dad and brother in the local social competition. His natural skills and abilities soon became evident and he was selected into the Illawarra Academy of Sport Volleyball Program for 2024 and 2025.

He has just finished competing in the Sydney Volleyball League season with the Illawarra Volleyball Association Representative Program, playing for the Illawarra Vikings (Division 1) team showcasing his skills against top teams from across the region.

In September this year, he heads to Perth, WA to play with the NSW State Youth Team (Under 18) at the Mahindra Australian Youth Volleyball Championships - the largest youth volleyball event in Australia. Jesse plans to continue pursuing his representative volleyball career when he heads to university next year.

Stage 2 Drama Showcase

by Mr Thorn

Year 3 and 4 had a showstopping time demonstrating their dramatic demeanours on Thursday afternoon. The students had been rehearsing throughout Terms 1 and 2 and were as keen as a bean to showcase their skills. The students dressed to impress, set themselves into character, and clearly spoke their lines to create a sensational performance.

Mrs Ellery and I were very impressed with the efforts from each and every student. We had a splendid audience made up of Years K-4, and super enthusiastic parents who collectively enjoyed the exciting and colourful performances presented.

A HUGE thank you to Rosie Ellery, for her masterful instruction and guidance in helping stage two develop their drama skills. We look forward to many more drama adventures in the future.

Stage 3 shine in spectacular Peter Pan JR musical

Last week, our talented Stage 3 students took audiences on a magical journey to Neverland in their outstanding production of Peter Pan JR Over four fantastic performances, nearly 1,200 audience members were treated to a show filled with colour, energy, and heart.

From the captivating costumes and imaginative sets to the confident performances and catchy songs, it was clear just how much hard work and dedication had gone into bringing the story to life. Every student played their part with enthusiasm and creativity, and the result was a very memorable experience for all who attended.

A heartfelt thank you to Mrs Ellery, the Stage 3 teachers, other staff members, parents and carers who supported the production — from helping behind the scenes and making costumes, to assisting on the night, your contributions helped make Peter Pan JR a spectacular success.

Congratulations to all involved — we’re so proud of you!
