Thank You to Our Parents and Carers

A huge thank you to our parents and carers for your generous Voluntary School Contributions. Your support makes a real difference to the experiences and opportunities we can provide for our students.

This funding will be invested directly back into our playgrounds to create additional opportunities for play, connection, creativity and physical activity for all students.

Thanks to your contributions, we will be purchasing a Gaga Pit and establishing a new sandpit in our K–2 playground, complete with diggers, buckets, spades and other sand-play equipment. Both the Gaga Pit and sandpit will be accessible to all students, providing opportunities for everyone to participate, play and connect. We will also be providing balls for each playground space.

These additions will give our students more opportunities to be active, use their imagination, build friendships and engage in meaningful play throughout the school day.

We sincerely appreciate the ongoing support of our families and the difference your contributions make to our school community. We look forward to sharing these exciting new additions with you once they are installed!

Student Leadership in Action – The Bottle for Benefit: Return and Earn Initiative

Over the past several months, our student leaders have been developing a leadership initiative designed to make a positive difference to our school and the environment. Following their participation in the GEA Leadership Day, our students planned and designed The Bottle for Benefit: Return and Earn Initiative.

The initiative involves collecting eligible bottles and cans purchased from our canteen, with collection points located throughout the school. These containers will then be returned through the Return and Earn program, with the funds raised being invested back into our school to purchase additional resources and equipment for our playgrounds.

This is a wonderful example of student voice and agency in action. Our students have identified an opportunity, developed a plan, worked collaboratively and are taking responsibility for creating positive change that will benefit all students.

Through this initiative, our student leaders are developing valuable skills in leadership, teamwork, communication, problem-solving and collective decision-making, while demonstrating that their ideas and actions can make a genuine difference to our school and environment.

More information about The Bottle for Benefit: Return and Earn Initiative will be shared on our school Facebook page and at upcoming school assemblies. Stay tuned to see how our student leaders are making a difference!

Year 6 Canberra Excursion

Our Year 6 students had an amazing time on their Canberra excursion! They explored some of Australia’s most significant landmarks and gained a deeper understanding of our nation’s history, democracy and government.

It was wonderful to see our students embracing every opportunity to learn, explore and create lasting memories together.

A special thank you to Mrs Keira Johnson, Mrs Cathy Johnson, Miss Jess Harris, Mrs Kadi Crar, Mrs Tania Jones and Mrs Bec Baird for giving up their time to attend and support our students. Your care, commitment and enthusiasm helped make this such a memorable experience for our Year 6 students. Thank you for helping make learning come alive beyond the classroom!
