Miss Jaclyn is always busy keeping abreast of our socials and sharing the terrific things happening at our school.
What a wonderful concert it was last night! Our children delivered outstanding performances, showcasing their talent, confidence and enthusiasm. It was a wonderful celebration of the Arts and a testament to the hard work and preparation that went into the evening.
A huge thank you to Jaclyn, who not only wrote the show but also worked tirelessly to prepare our students for their performances. The children were incredibly well-prepared, and their confidence and enjoyment on the night were a wonderful reflection of Jaclyn’s dedication and creativity.
A special thank you to Louise for her creativity and hard work in preparing the amazing props. We are also incredibly grateful to Louise’s husband, Simon, who generously volunteered his time to help with the set-up and construction of the props. His contribution was very much appreciated!
Thank you to everyone who helped make the concert such a memorable evening. Many staff gave up lunchtimes and worked after school to ensure the success of the evening.
Most importantly, congratulations to our amazing students — you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves!
And the good news is… we have one more night of entertainment ahead! 🎉🎶 We look forward to seeing our students take to the stage again tonight and enjoying another fabulous evening together. 🌟👏
Please be aware that a movie is being filmed on James Street next Friday, with the section from High Street to McIntyre Street being closed to traffic during filming.
There will be no access to the school via James Street on the day. A temporary Kiss & Go zone will be set up on Westbourne Grove to assist families with drop-off and pick-up.
Kathryn will be sending out further COMMs via COMPASS, so please keep an eye out for further details and updates. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work around this temporary disruption.
Next week, commencing Monday August 24, we will be celebrating Book Week. This year's theme is “A Symphony of Stories!” 📖
There will be lots of exciting activities happening throughout the week as we celebrate the joy of reading, storytelling and the wonderful worlds that books open up for us.
Our Book Week Parade will be held on Friday, August 28, when students can come dressed as their favourite book character. We are looking forward to seeing the creativity and imagination on display!
It’s going to be a fantastic week celebrating books, stories and the magic of reading! ✨
Next Wednesday, our students will compete at the District Athletics Carnival. Mr Rooney has been busy coordinating team selection and finalising our squad. Notes will be sent home once the team has been confirmed, so please keep an eye out for further information.
A big good luck to all of our future competitors! We wish you all the very best and look forward to seeing you represent our school with pride, enthusiasm and sportsmanship! 🏃♂️🏃♀️👏
Our Parent Teacher Interviews will be held on Monday 31 August. On this day, children will finish school at 12:30pm.

Booking forms will be made available shortly. We look forward to the opportunity to meet with families and discuss your child’s learning, progress and wellbeing. 😊
Some of you may have heard recent media reports regarding school closures and the financial position of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS).
MACS has provided the following information to share with our communities.
Currently, all Catholic schools are working through planning and budgeting activities for 2027 to ensure we are well placed to support our staff, students and school communities in the coming year. This includes looking at how we can accommodate the changes likely to flow from a new Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) with school staff.
We recognise the significant financial pressures many households are facing, and we are making a conscious effort to ensure these costs are not passed on through significant fee increases.
We will continue to keep our parent community informed throughout this process. As always, our focus remains on maintaining strong school communities and continuing to deliver a high-quality Catholic education for every student.
A letter from VCEA - Victorian Catholic Education Authority
Please see attached a letter from the Victorian Catholic Education Authority outlining the work that is currently underway to secure a funding commitment for capital investment in Victorian Catholic schools.
This would support ongoing improvements to our schools and the provision of new schools.
Please take the time to read the letter.
We have made the decision that Ooshies are no longer permitted at school.
Unfortunately, we have been experiencing a number of issues in the yard involving Ooshies, including children arguing, fighting and becoming upset over collecting, trading and playing with them.
To help keep our playground a safe, happy and inclusive space for everyone, we ask that Ooshies be left at home. This will allow us to avoid unnecessary conflict and ensure our students can enjoy their playtime without distractions or disagreements over these items.
Thank you for your support in helping us maintain a positive and respectful playground environment. 💙
We warmly invite all fathers, grandfathers, special men and significant father figures in the lives of our students to join us for our Father's Day Celebration.

This is always a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the important role that fathers and special men play in the lives of our children while enjoying time together as a school community.
Further details, including times and information about the Father's Day Stall, will be shared soon. We look forward to celebrating with you!
