Late Arrivals and Early Departures: Important Information for Parents and Carers
To help us keep our students safe and maintain accurate attendance records, please follow the procedures below when your child arrives late to school or needs to leave early.
Late Arrivals
If you know your child will be late for school, please notify the school by phone or email, or send a written note with your child explaining the reason for their late arrival.
When they arrive at school, students who are late must report to the Student Counter before proceeding to class. This allows their attendance record to be updated correctly.
Early Departures
If your child needs to leave school early, please phone or email the school ahead of time to let us know when they will be collected.
Alternatively, parents and carers can come to the school and sign their child out in person.
Thank you for your cooperation in following these procedures. Your support helps us maintain accurate attendance records and, most importantly, ensures we know where our students are throughout the school day.
Sick Bay and Unwell Students
If your child becomes unwell during the school day, they must report to Sick Bay so that our staff can assess their condition and provide appropriate support.
Students should not call home themselves if they are feeling unwell. Once a student has arrived at school, they are also not permitted to use their mobile phone to contact parents or carers regarding illness. Students who use their phone inappropriately may receive a detention in accordance with the school’s mobile phone procedures.
If a student is unwell and needs to go home, office staff will contact their parent or carer to arrange collection. This ensures that the school is aware of the student’s whereabouts and that appropriate procedures are followed.
Thank you for supporting us in ensuring that students follow the correct process when they are unwell at school.
Student ID Cards
A reminder to all students: please bring your student ID card with you every day. Your ID card must be used when scanning in late or scanning out early for appointments, TAFE or other approved activities.
Using your ID card helps us keep an accurate record of who is on site and when students arrive or leave. Please make sure you have your ID card ready to scan whenever you arrive late or need to leave school during the day.
Thank you for helping us keep our attendance records accurate and our school community safe!
