2026 Book Week 'Symphony of Stories’
This week St Xavier’s students celebrated Book Week and the theme “Symphony of Stories”. A dress up day was held on Monday where children came to school dressed as their favourite book character. There were some absolutely incredible costumes and it was so wonderful to see everyone dressed up and embracing the spirit of the day.
The Book Week parade was held before lunch and each grade had their turn in the spotlight. This year there were two lucky winners from each year. The prizes, a voucher to spend at the Term 4 Book Fair, were generously donated by Emilee from Little Steps Development.

Brain Olympia Cluster Competition
On Tuesday the 25th of August, two teams travelled to St Edward’s in Tamworth to compete in the 2026 Tamworth Brain Olympia Cluster.
There were a total of 12 teams competing on the day and the competition was fierce! There were five rounds of trivia questions, problem solving, public speaking and the day finished with drama. Both teams performed exceptionally well and were awarded first and third place! St Xavier’s will compete against the winners from the Walgett and Inverell clusters in Tamworth during Week 9.
A huge thank you must go to Karen, Natalie and Bec for driving and supporting our teams during the competition. St Xavier’s should be very proud of their performance!
