Principal's Message

Dear parents and carers,

It was so good to see so many family members at our Book Week Parade on Monday. It’s a great day for everyone here and hopefully highlights to the students and parents how amazing books are. In the first semester of this year St Xavier’s staff and students borrowed over 4000 books from our Library!

Reading is the key to unlocking so many learning opportunities at school. We have a large number of families who read with their children and we cannot thank them enough. The small number of children who do not receive any help at home with reading are listened to by staff outside of teaching time. Five or ten minutes before school or straight after lunch can make a real difference.

Teaching is not just a job, it is a vocation. It is a privilege and a huge responsibility to have the learning needs and desires of our students in our hands. We value the partnerships we have with parents, it does take a village, as they say, and we are proud of the way we build relationships with families.

Thank you to the 63 parents who, to date, have completed the Parent Satisfaction Survey which was emailed to each of you. We take the feedback seriously and it helps drive improvement and also lets us know what we are doing well.

As always, if you have something you would like to mention or find out please call the office and book a time with me. We are in this together!

Kind regards,

Jen
