Art with Nicole & Emily

This term the year 2/3 class have been studying textiles. If you look closely you can see each of the beautiful sunflowers has a radial weaving center. The class loved learning to weave and the new display looks fantastic in the multipurpose room corridor. Inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's Sunflowers and Bridie's Lego. Please come and admire their beautiful work.

The artwork “Castle and Sun” is a creation by artist Paul Klee, dated 1928. Part of the Expressionist movement, the artwork presents a richly colored composition, prominently featuring geometric shapes and blocks that resemble the layout of a stylized cityscape or castle. Various shapes such as rectangles, squares, triangles, and other polygons are meticulously arranged, suggesting buildings and structures. The use of vibrant colors is a constrast against darker hues, creating depth and the sense of individual elements.

Our students in year 4,5 and 6 created their own Castle and Sun work.

New School Mural

Thank you to all those families busily collecting and cleaning plastic bottlecaps and lids for our new school mural. The students have been doing concept designs and working on scale in art lessons. We had a play with our collection so far and found we need more brown, gold and silver lids and that different sized lids make for interesting texture and pattern.  Keep collecting all colours so we can keep the progress happening and we'll be closer to brightening up our school playground.
