Bringing Back The 80's and 90's

It was a bit surreal walking around the classrooms today, like we were caught in a Timewarp. Lots of flannies, fluoro, crimped hair and fingerless gloves! Well done to the SRC for organising a great dress up day. The $89 raised will go directly towards purchasing new play equipment.

Cooking in the Kitchen

Carrots, Carrots, Carrots with Kathryn!

This week, our Year 4/5 students explored all things carrot while making delicious spiced carrot muffins. Students carefully measured and mixed their dry and wet ingredients before safely peeling and grating fresh carrots. Along the way, they learned about the spices cinnamon and nutmeg and how they enhance flavour in baking.

Our Prep–1 students were also busy in the kitchen, carefully following recipes and developing their skills in the safe use of kitchen equipment. They enjoyed making orange muffins using oranges grown in our very own school garden, as well as a delicious carrot cake featuring freshly grated carrots.

It was wonderful to see students building their confidence in the kitchen while creating some tasty treats to enjoy!

Wellbeing with Kim

In Wellbeing this week, Kim's Year 2/3 class explored the differences between healthy and unhealthy friendships. Students also discussed the distinction between bullying and unkind behaviour.

Through examining a range of scenarios, students developed their understanding of positive relationships and were able to identify, describe and name different behaviours. These discussions helped students build their awareness of how their actions can impact others and reinforced the importance of treating everyone with kindness and respect.
