HSC History Study Days  

On 3 June, thirteen students from Ancient and Modern History travelled to Sydney to attend a series of lectures at the University of Sydney. These sessions, run by HSC markers, are designed to help students improve the quality of their responses and consolidate their understanding of content covered this year.

Ancient History students focused on Pompeii, Sparta, and the Julio-Claudians, while Modern History students explored dictatorship in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. The students gained valuable insights and are excited to bring their learnings back to school.

After the lectures, the group had the opportunity to visit several Sydney attractions, including the Australian Museum, the War Memorial in Hyde Park, and the Vivid Light Festival around Sydney Harbour. The visit to the War Memorial was especially memorable, as students viewed soil from each battlefield where Australian soldiers fought, as well as soil from every town in NSW that contributed soldiers to WW1.

All the students had a fantastic time and would like to thank Mr Stewart, Ms Auld, and Mr Fowke for making this incredible trip possible.
