EDUCATIONAL PATHWAYS PROGRAM

Exciting News from Inverell High and Macintyre High Schools! 

The Educational Pathways Program (EPP), in partnership with Novaskill, recently delivered an 8-day intensive Head Start pre-apprenticeship skills course to students at both schools. This hands-on program provided valuable industry insights and practical experience in construction.

Students learned essential skills including:

• Basic levelling procedures and operations

• Measurements and calculations

• Planning and organising work

As a practical highlight, students applied their new knowledge to build 3 picnic tables from scratch! These completed tables will be donated to Inverell High and Macintyre High Schools, providing useful outdoor furniture and a real sense of accomplishment for the students.

By completing the course, students have gained:

• Experience to pursue apprenticeships or traineeships in construction and related fields

• Clarity on future study and career options

• Increased confidence in workplace skills and environments
