Grade 3 Scratch & Patch
To encourage sustainable food scrap practices for our chickens, students in Grade 3 ran a 5 day competition across Grades Prep, 1, 2 and 5/6. Posters about what chickens can and can’t eat where distributed to classrooms last term, as well as food scrap buckets to collect food scraps.
Every classroom involved in the competition gave it a good go and we appreciate that everyone got involved. Students from 3KM checked off each class and checked eat food scrap bin, ensuring that they contained the right scraps.
We are very excited to announce the following 4 classrooms as our winners of the competition! A big congratulations to Ms Geddes class 1KG, Mr White’s class 5/6 BW, Ms Healy 1NH and last but not least, Ms Eddy 2DE! These four classrooms get to name one of our new chickens.
A big thank you to every class who got involved, it was amazing to see so many classrooms giving it their best. An update on the chickens and their new names will be posted soon.
