Canberra Study Tour

The Canberra Study Tour has now become a permanent fixture on the EPS camp schedule. Our Year 6 students, once again, attended attractions that were carefully curated to be engaging and to align with the curriculum focus areas for the term: namely Civics and Citizenship.

Canberra provides the students with rich and authentic curriculum-linked education programs that provide hands-on learning and provide an immersive experience where real-life democracy takes place.

Each year we make changes to the itinerary based on teacher / student feedback and any other relevant factors, for example this year we included the Film and Sound Archives as it is a Film Festival year.

The feedback from our current Year 6 students was overwhelmingly positive, however we continue to finetune the itinerary and 2025 will be even better!

Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER)

The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government contributes funding to our school in the amount of $30 to $45 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate Program towards these costs.

The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion. This rebate was factored into the total cost of the tour.
