Body Safe

Last week we had Deanne and Lou from Body Safe Australia visit the 3/4 classrooms.

Over the three days we learnt about......

Cross Country

Well done to all 3/4's for displaying great resilience when taking on their 2km run for cross country this week. Mrs Cardillo and Mrs Holloway are super proud of your efforts and earing points for your house!

Kids Helpline Session - 7th of May

Next Tuesday, 3/4 students will be participating in a virtual session with Kids Helpline about 'Online Safety'. Qualified Kids Helpline School counsellors will use video conferencing technology to run this education session about coping strategies, digital safety and citizenship, emotional literacy, help-seeking behaviours and resilience building.

 

The session will run for 45minutes and include the following structure:

- Acknowledgement of country

- Boundary setting

- Rapport building game

- Introduction to Kids Helpline

- Q&A- Introduction to online safety and exploration of classes online habits

- Discussion of online dangers

- Online Safety Tips: Listen to your gut feelings- OK Activity (Stop, Share, Shut it down)

- Help seeking (supports & eSafety)

- Focus Area: Wise with what we click on – identifying safe vs unsafe websites and what to do if we see a pop-up

- Recap of session

- Q&A

 

This session requires parent/carer consent on Compass for each student to attend.

 

Barmah National Forest & Kyabram Zoo Excursion

To kick off week 5 and Education Week (Monday the 13th of May), Grade 3/4 students will be visiting Barmah National Park followed by a visit to Kyabram Fauna Park for a lifecycle and environment session that links in with our Inquiry Unit on Sustainability. We will depart school at 9am and return at 1:30pm. Students need to be in school uniform and will require fruit, snack and drink bottle to bring with them. 

This excursion will require parent/carer consent and payment through Compass for students to attend.
