What a big week at TPS

Mr Hogan

We have had a very busy week here at TPS. The weather has been sensational and the students have loved being outside playing so nicely with their friends.

It is nice for me to also be back on deck after unfortunately suffering another bout of COVID. It is a timely reminder that COVID is still prevalent in our community and need to take the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of this.

Education Week

Education Week is running from May13th-May 17th. We celebrate Education Week in a number of different ways.

During this week, we will:

  • be having an Open Morning for all families between 9-10am, where parents can join students in the classroom for an hour.
  • conducting School Tours for prospective 2025 Prep families.
  • running our 2025 Prep Information Night
  • be having an all-school STEM day, where students will take part in STEM activities with the classroom teachers for the whole day.
  • be sending our Cross Country team off to the Campaspe Cross Country.
  • celebrate our outstanding writers and all our Education Week highlights during Assembly on Friday.

ANZAC Day

A big thank you and congratulations to our Young Leaders who ran a beautiful ANZAC Day service at school last week. It was well attended by members of our community, and looked fantastic in front of our new Lone Pine Memorial Garden.

The following day, 2 of our school captains, Tilly F and Noah M represented the school at the local community services, and again did a fantastic job.

We had 28 students and staff members marching in the community ANZAC march, with Kevin M, the flag bearer and Winter T, the drummer.

What a great representation of our school.

New Toilets

Our new toilet blocks have arrived and been placed behind the P/1 portables. They are a result of our increasing enrolments, making sure we are compliant with the number of toilets we have on site.

These toilets also provide much easier access during recess and lunch, as well as during PE and Environmental Studies lessons.

Over the coming weeks, these toilets will be completed with decking, ramps and concrete paths.

Cross Country

Under beautiful conditions, we were able to run our Cross Country on Wednesday morning.

Thank you to Mrs Young for all of her work in preparing for this. It was great to see so many families and friends here to cheer on the students.

We had some outstanding results, with the students giving their all. From here, we have selected a team of students to represent the school at the upcoming Campaspe Cross Country event on May 17th.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day is on Sunday, May 12th, and we love to be able to celebrate with our special female role models in the school.

The annual Mothers Day stall will be running on Thursday, May 9th. Gifts range from $1-$6. We ask that you do not send your child with lots of money on this day please.

That afternoon, we will be having our Mothers Day afternoon tea in the Environmental Garden from 2:15 - 3:00. Mums, aunties, grandmas, etc. are more than welcome to attend. We look forward to seeing lots of people there.

Attitude to School Survey

Our students in Grade 4/5/6 will be completing the Attitude to Schools Survey in the coming weeks. Students are surveyed about all parts of schooling, including connectedness, work engagement, managing bullying and their own attitude towards work.

This is valuable data for our school, as it provides excellent student voice and allows us to review our practices.

Have a great week everyone

Rob
