During week 2, Grades 5/6 completed some fitness testing (Shuttle Runs) and finished their preparation for Athletics by practicing and refining their triple jump skills.

Grades 3/4 also finished up their Athletics preparation with learning how to complete  triple jump - such a tricky one but I was thrilled with EVERYONES participation and perseverance 🙌

Our lower years followed suit with their last bit of Athletics skills lessons through a short circuit of skills that needed a little more refining.

In week 3, Grades 5/6s began a short unit that focuses on an orienteering sport called Rogaining - the Australian version! We learned that it is like a big treasure hunt in the outdoors where you collect points as a team when you find checkpoints. We focused on our team work skills - communication and problem solving.

Grades 3/4 started their fitness testing through a Shuttle Run which everyone gave their very best go despite being nervous to in the beginning - in fact everyone gave it 2 or 3 goes! It will be great to see if we have improved our running in another 6 months.

Grades F - 2 focused on basic movement skills through short games where we ran, slide stepped, skipped, galloped. They also experienced opportunities to practice their ball handling skills with beanbag activities on their own and with a partner.
