Last Wednesday and Thursday, 56 students from Years 9, 10, 11 and 12 represented Northcote High School at the One Day Volleyball School Series.
It’s great to see many returning players to the NHS Volleyball Development Program and welcome lots of new players too! It was made evident by the new players at the tournament that it is never too late to start a new sport.
All of the NHS students were great team players and performed well over the course of the tournament! It was great to see our students encouraging and supporting one another in every game. As the first tournament of the year, it was a great opportunity to try out new positions and learn how to work best as a team.
Well done to the Year 10 Girls who won a bronze medal! This team has been training very hard since the start of the year, as they are attending The Australian Schools Cup in December. The 7am trainings each week are paying off. Keep up the fantastic work!
Thank you to Jonny, Kesinee, Matt Londen (12K), Jack Donegan (12K), Aaron Fuaux (12K), Minke Cook (12E), Chiara Vagnarelli (12I), Miles Clancy (11F) and Vincent Wang (11L) for coaching the players. The tournament ran so smoothly thanks to your great organisation and leadership.
A big thank you to Pauline Dridan, Craig Price and Ruby Fleming for driving and supervising the students. We could not participate in the tournament without your assistance!
Good luck to the Year 7 and 8 teams who are playing at the One Day Volleyball School Series this Friday.
