Year 8 students with their healthy lunchboxes

Sharing stories of connection through food

The food technology department has been busy creating a range of amazing dishes and building students skills in the kitchen.

Year 10 students recognised ANZAC day by producing ANZAC biscuits and one class had a bake off. The following students were recognised for producing high quality biscuits.

Viggo & Spencer: best presentation

Holly & Ede: best crunchy ANZAC biscuits

Eli: best chewy biscuits

The Year 8 students have been producing a ‘healthy lunchbox’ as a CAT following learning about healthy eating and what nutrients function are in the body and what food provide essential nutrients.

Year 12 Food Study students have been exploring factors that influence our food choices. The class were asked to produce and share a dish that has meaning to them. We had a huge variety of dishes ranging from apple pies, fried chicken wings to Vietnamese pork noodle soup. The students shared their stories of connection they have to the dish and why they selected that dish to prepare and serve. Well done to all the year 12 students for sharing many stories of connectedness and family memories.
