Debating
Environmental issues under debate in schools competition
The debate team recently got the opportunity to go to the second debating competition of the year. We had a lot of teams eager to participate and it was a fantastic opportunity to compete against other schools and to show off our debating skills.
In our D grade we had three teams compete all on the topic 'That Victoria should cancel the Suburban Rail Loop'. Two out of the three teams won, with a very close match for one of the teams losing by one point. In our C grade we had two teams debate on the topic 'That electric cars do more harm than good'. We also received a win in that category with a loss as well. We had one team debate in our B grade on the topic 'That greenwashing should be a criminal offence', where they received a loss.
Congratulations to all teams that competed, and a further congratulations to best speakers: Dougal Fraser, Juneau Le Miere, Samuel Roberts, Alex Wright and Azura Baglioni.
