Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
Welcome to another exciting week at our school! As we end Week 3, there have been several significant events and opportunities taking place that I want to highlight.
We started of the Term with the Scholar’s Assembly. We were delighted to welcome back so many of our Year 12, 2023 graduates, and their parents, who we honoured in our annual Scholars’ Assembly. Those who had already departed the Mountains to take up their tertiary placements were also honoured, and the Assembly was followed by morning tea for our Alumni. Best wishes to all our graduates as they start on the next important stage of lifelong learning - we look forward to hearing of your adventures beyond BMGS!
On Thursday, 8th February, Mr Coote and I took our Student Leaders to the Leaders Induction Ceremony at St Andrew's Cathedral School. We were so proud of our Senior Leaders as they headed to St Andrew’s Cathedral in Sydney to be commissioned into their leadership roles by Archbishop Kanishka Raffel. Our students joined over 600 student leaders from Anglican Schools across the Sydney Diocese. And of course a celebratory lunch is a must!
On Tuesday, 13th February we welcomed the Year 12 parents and students who came into school for the Parent Teacher Night. This was an invaluable opportunity for parents to meet with Year 12 teachers, discuss their progress, and address any concerns they may have as we progress through this crucial academic year. For the first time in many years, we ran this event face to face.
Additionally, we are thrilled to invite prospective students and their families to our Open Days on Thursday and Saturday. These events provide a fantastic opportunity to explore our campus, meet our dedicated staff, and discover the diverse range of programs and opportunities available here at our school.
And let's not forget the much-anticipated Swimming Carnival that took place today! It was a day filled with spirited competition, camaraderie, and plenty of fun. Students participated and showed their support for their respective Houses.
Looking ahead to Week 4, I'm excited to announce that our Year 7 students will be embarking on a memorable outdoor adventure as they head out on camp. This experience is not only an opportunity for personal growth and development but also a chance for students to forge lasting friendships and create unforgettable memories.
As always, I encourage all students to make the most of these upcoming events and opportunities. Your participation and engagement play a vital role in creating a vibrant and supportive school community.
Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing you all at these upcoming events.
