DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY
Coasting Drones – Geelong Tech School
Over the last two weeks, the two Living in a Digital World classes went to the Geelong Tech School as part of Coasting Drones program. Prior to going to the Tech School, we had been learning about Life Saving Victoria and the technologies that they are using like drones to help save lives. On the first day we learnt all about drones and how they help save lives along coast lines in Victoria. We also learnt how to fly Tello drones. In the middle of the day we were tasked with the problem of creating an object from carboard that is less than 30g and aerodynamic enough to be dropped from a drone and land in the centre of the target. On the second day we looked at Augmented Reality (AR). We learnt how to use photoshop to help us create an information product (viewable in AR) to inform people about the marine life and safety of Victorian beaches and oceans. Tahlia 9E
