ELEVATE EDUCATION PROGRAM

YEAR 11 ELEVATE EDUCATION PROGRAM

 

On Wednesday 28th February, during periods 1 &2, all Year 11 VCE students participated in the “Study Sensei” Elevate Education Program.  Students remained in their regular class with their subject teacher. Each class was allocated an Elevate Education Presenter who delivered this program. 

The Study Sensei seminar covered:

  • Utilising the syllabus to frame study
  • Structuring and reviewing organised notes
  • Conceptual learning to develop deep understanding
  • Utilising practice exam papers
  • Standing out through independent learning

 

At the end of the program, students completed a feedback sheet providing presenters with valuable feedback on the program and their presentations.  99% of students indicated that they found value in this program, the program was time well spent and they would recommend this program to their peers.  We have provided some samples of student feedback:

“Our presenter Charlie did an amazing job presenting and made it easy for us to stay engaged for the entire 2 periods.”   (Summer Buzimkic)

“I thoroughly enjoyed this program.  It presents new ideas around how to study effectively which helped me a lot.  Learning about how to memorize notes and apply them on practice papers was important to me.”  (Eliza Turley)

“I rate this program very highly for students of any year level as it teaches students strategies to make learning easier”.   (Jai Natonewski)

“ I think this program was excellent.  The presenters had students engaged in learning and they presented the content very well.  I valued the time spent on doing mindmaps to memorise information and planning essays.” (Anya Kinnane)

“It was a good way to raise awareness on how we can improve our studying techniques.  Our Presenter Harry showed us how to look at the study design and finding key knowledge and skills which was an area I enjoyed learning.”  (Hayden Williams)

 

At the conclusion of the program, the following feedback was provided to our school:

“Myself and the Elevate team had such a delightful time with the students at Belmont High School. They were all attentive, respectful, and enthusiastic in the seminars, and seeing them get involved with the content (and games) brought us all a lot of joy.
