Dear Parents/Carers,
DISTRICT TENNIS
Today 6 students competed in District Tennis at supergrass tennis. Well done to all students who competed. Congratulations to Nico Savage who won overall and now progresses through to division tennis.
CHESS CLUB
Chess Club is off and running. We had a great turn out for our very first Chess Club meeting for the year! Students from Year 1 to Year 6 came along to test their craftsmanship in this challenging game and escape the heat. All students showed great skill and determination, with first-timers to grandmasters taking up the challenge. Come along next week to learn this great game, or challenge a friend. All are welcome!
YEAR 3 LAPTOPS
This year we have commenced phasing out the ‘bring your own device’ program.
Students who entered into Year 3 this year have started using the class notebooks.
As you can see they all enjoyed their time using them.
COLOUR RUN
The fundraising committee are well underway with the organisation of this years’ Colour Run which on Friday 22 March.
It’s expected to be another fun-filled event at Warrnambool Primary School and a great fundraiser for our school. We are keen to raise money to put towards much needed facilities at our great school.
There will be helpers required so please get on board and help where you can. It’s also incredibly important that we raise as many funds as we can to upgrade our outdoor play spaces. Donations can be made through Compass Tix, using the sponsorship form or at the school office. Sponsorship forms will be sent home with students on Monday.
HOT CROSS BUN DRIVE
Believe it or not Easter is fast approaching. Bakers Delight Norfolk Plaza have been incredibly generous sponsors of Warrnambool Primary School in the past and we are keen to support their business as part of our annual Hot X Bun drive. The forms will be distributed very soon so please support our school and fundraising committee by purchasing Hot X buns through this activity. We know that you will enjoy them.
EASTER RAFFLE
The Easter Raffle is back again this year!
Tickets will be sent home very soon and are $1 each. Hamper donations can be made to the school office by Friday 22nd March. The raffle will be drawn at assembly on Monday 25th March.
SCHOOL COUNCIL 2024
Our Warrnambool Primary School Council remains the same for 2024 as current members are all signed on for another 12 months.
If you are interested in joining the School Council for the 2025-2026 school years you can contact me at school and find out more about it.
Your School Council for 2024 is: Greg Gent, Adele Smith, Janine Kairl, Liz Leonard, Georgina Logan, Lauren Traill, Tonya Ferguson, Danielle Toone, Clinton Brown, Edwina Medro and myself.
SECONDARY SCHOOL OPEN NIGHTS
Warrnambool College and Brauer College have their opening nights coming up in March.
Warrnambool College is on Monday 18th March at 4pm and Brauer College is holding theirs on Wednesday 20th March at 4.30pm.
It's important that if you are looking at sending your child to one of these schools that you attend these nights.
