Walk this Way Project
Wendy from Loddon Shire and Healthy Loddon Campaspe came to our school to discuss the Walk This Way project with the students. The project focuses on activating a walking loop in town with fun activity stickers on the footpaths, which will encourage children, families and the community to walk more often. There will also be more outdoor seating installed on the walking loop. The children got to vote on their favourite activity, and the top three activities will be installed on the footpaths. The project is funded and supported by the Department of Health and Loddon Shire.
Literacy
The Foundation and Grade 1 students have spent Term 1 learning about the background information about the story of the Three Little Pigs. This has allowed the students to reflect on the much-loved story, analyse it to a great extent, and learn new words throughout the text. After learning about this much-loved text, the students were asked to create their own versions of The Three Little Pigs. They looked at what is required throughout the start, middle, and end of their writing.

Term One Reflection
As we take a moment to look back over the whirlwind of activities and events that have filled our calendar in the past eight weeks, we can't help but feel in awe at all that we have accomplished together here at St Mary's.
Term One is always a bustling time for us, with our Friday Gym and Swimming program providing our students with valuable opportunities for physical activity and skill development. However, this term has been even more action-packed as we've navigated through NAPLAN Assessments, Cross-Country practice, and Swimming Carnivals and marked special days on our calendar, such as Shrove Tuesday, Pi Day, Harmony Day, and our upcoming Holy Week celebrations.
In the midst of all these events and activities, one thing has become abundantly clear - everyone here at St Mary's is a superstar in their own right. The dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work demonstrated by our students (and families) have truly made these past weeks a remarkable journey of growth and achievement.
We are overjoyed to share that our students have embraced new challenges with enthusiasm and a positive attitude, radiating bright smiles that light up our special community. It has been a pleasure to welcome new friends into our midst, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and supported. As we move forward into Term Two, we are filled with excitement for what lies ahead.
