Future Learning

Reading - We continue to read our class novel Runt. These novels are kept at school with each student having their own copy to read. Our focus is fluently reading, comprehending texts for a wide range of purposes and analysing text structures and language. Students will ask clarifying questions as they read and provide reasons and evidence for their thinking.

Writing

Spelling Mastery forms part of our daily routine. Students will improve their spelling through daily practise, review and using their knowledge of morphographs. We continue to explore narrative texts and are analysing how we can innovate on a known text to create a narrative of our own.

Numeracy

We are coming to the end of our unit of work on factors and multiples and data. In the coming weeks student will explore a range of activities to increase their understanding of multiplication and division. We will also investigate Area and Perimeter, incorporating our knowledge of addition and multiplication.

Wellbeing

Our predictable and consistent routines are now well under way. Student have completed their Ready To Learn scale and Ready To Learn plan. Explicit instruction oh how to use both of these will be given over the coming weeks.

Inquiry

Our Inquiry unit is "Think Global, Act Local." Students will learn about the natural work and how we are changing it. Student will be immersed in the collection of weather data around Australia. They will also have the opportunity to design and create their own weather station.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact us. Sometimes what seems a problem can be sorted quickly if we are aware of what is happening.
