MPS Swimming Carnival

Murrumbeena Primary School excel in and out of the pool at the Swimming Carnival
What an exciting and action-packed day it was at our annual Swimming Carnival! Students from year 3 to 6 gathered for a fantastic day filled with both fun and competitive events. From the exhilarating races to the enthusiastic cheering from the sidelines, the carnival brought out the best in our school community.
Throughout the day, students participated in a variety of swimming events, showcasing their talents, sportsmanship, and team spirit. There was something for everyone, whether it was a competitive race or just a fun relay! The pool staff were thoroughly impressed with the exceptional manners and respect demonstrated by our students, which truly made the day run smoothly.
House Points and Results: Our House Teams showed great determination and teamwork throughout the day, and we’re excited to share the results. House points were tallied up, and the standings are as follows:
1. Dulai Wurrung – 296 points
2. Marram – 272 points
3. Gurborra – 197 points
4. Yanggai – 184 points
Congratulations to Dulai Wurrung for taking home the Swimming Trophy this year! Great effort from all teams – it was a close competition!
Qualification for Further Competitions: For those students who displayed exceptional swimming abilities, there’s more to look forward to! The MPS swimming team selected go forward to the Bentleigh District Swimming Carnival with great confidence and look to follow up the schools outstanding runner up finish at last years carnival. Keep an eye out for details about these exciting opportunities as we celebrate our athletes who go above and beyond.
Our House Captains had their first official duties for the year and did an outstanding job motivating their Houses and helping the day run smoothly. Massive congratulations to them and a great start to the year.
A big thank you to all the parents, teachers, and volunteers who helped make the day a success. We are so proud of the sportsmanship and spirit shown by everyone involved. Let’s keep up the great work and continue supporting one another throughout the year!
