Last week during their games session, our Year Threes learnt a new fun activity called “Rock, Bridge, Tree relay”. I (Mr Mather) remember playing it when I was at school so I thought this new generation might enjoy it too.
They loved the challenge it presented by jumping over a human rock, going under a human bridge and around a human tree, and repeating this on the way back to the next student in their line. They continued this until everyone had a go. The fastest team won. It was fast paced and required being nimble to fit under the bridge. Suffice to say that when I tried it I became stuck much to the amusement of the students!
The students loved it so much they could’ve played it for the whole duration of the lesson.
Also on Wednesday 19th February, it was International Tug of War Day (yes there is actually a day for that sport) so we indulged in a few battles on the oval on that day. Here are a few action shots of Year Threes and Fives going at it.
