Year Two

Learning in Year Two

The Year Two students have had a great start to the year establishing classroom routines and setting expectations for the year ahead.

During our 'Who we are' unit, built around the central idea ‘Responsible choices contribute to our relationships and our community’ we explored what a community is, and what it means to be responsible.

Over the past three weeks we have:

  • Established expectations for our classroom community.

  • Practised responsibility for our pet rocks.

  • Explored and used problem solving strategies in maths.

  • Practised ‘reading is thinking’ strategies such as, predicting, inferring, making connections and summarising.

  • Focused on writing sentences with a subject, verb, capital letter and accurate end punctuation.

The students have all done so well in stepping up to our Year Two expectations!

We also loved seeing so many families during our home and school partnership meetings. We can’t wait for all the exciting things ahead.
