Final President Report – 19 November 2025
As the 2025 year comes to a close, sadly so to does my time here at St Josephs. I have been part of the parent community since 2017 and it has been an amazing part of my family's lives.
But after 9 years it's time to move to the world of high school. Many have said you will be excited to leave primary school by the time term 4 comes around but I have to say I'm not there yet and that is a true indication of how well this school is run and to the caring teachers, staff and leadership team a heartfelt thank you for always taking the time to say hello, stopping for a quick chat and being kind role models for our children.
I know I will never forget my time here.
For the last time as president I would like to thank my fellow exec members. It has been a privilege to get to know you and work alongside 3 very strong and dedicated women and I have loved working with you all over the past few years - we wouldn't have been able to do what we have done without you so thank you so much.
2025 has been another amazing year!! We have had many school and wider community events and I couldn’t be prouder of the results we have achieved as a school community.
St Josephs come together when it is needed. Renee and Shaye did an amazing job organising our spring fair and to all the stall holders who put a lot of effort into the day and all the hours prior organising and setting up their areas of fun.
The colour fun run was held in October. It was meant to be a beautiful overcast day but the blaring sun came out and boy was it hot! But most kids had a great time and we thank the teachers and students braving the heat at the park and enjoying the day.
Fathers day breakfast was a hit with the dads and kids receiving a sausage sizzle or many as I've heard. Thank you to all the mums who came early to set up the BBQ and those new parents who jumped in to help as we got busy. Days like this couldn’t be done without the amazing parents who volunteer their time and I want to thank you all.
Also in October was our Grandparents and Great people day. We love grandparents day. Watching the smiles, cuddles and happy faces when the grandparents came into the classrooms to see what their grandchildren have been learning at school this year. The handmade cards and gifts the students gave to their grandparents were very special and definitely something to cherish. A special thank you to Mr and Mrs Wade for their very special and heartfelt speech they gave in the liturgy. It is always so lovely to hear from the grandparents.
Perrie and helpers have started on the 2025 yearbook and I thank her for taking on a big task but we know it's going to be great!
November brought socktober where the kids were able to wear some crazy socks and wow some were crazy!
But our year isn't finished yet - still to come is our Christmas concert, our ever so popular SJB got talent, the students leaping into their new classrooms and teachers for 2026 and finally the whole school liturgy to farewell year 6 and those who are leaving.
On my final note I would like to take this opportunity to thank and farewell Mrs Karen Gallagher who will be retiring at the end of this year and Mrs Kylie Grose who has accepted an Assistant Principal role at St Michael's Thirroul.
Both Karen and Kylie have been at St Josephs for 18 and 17 years respectively. Thank you from our SJB community for your dedication and support to this school and we wish you both all the very best in retirement and new adventures. You will be missed.
