World Kindness Day

Yesterday was World Kindness Day which is held each year on Thursday 13 November. Kindness is far more than a simple gesture; it influences how we learn, play, and build relationships with others.

At Sacred Heart, our URSTRONG program reminds us that kindness is deeply linked to healthy friendships. Research shows that children who engage in acts of kindness are more socially accepted by their peers. In simple terms, students who show kindness tend to be more well-liked and have stronger, more positive friendships. Even more importantly, being kind boosts a child’s own wellbeing, helping them feel happier, calmer, and more connected.

Kindness is something we read about, admire in others, and consistently recognise as one of the most important human qualities. It is positive, contagious, and transformative.

As a community, we continue to encourage our students to look for small, everyday opportunities to be kind; a smile, an invitation to play, a helping hand, or a gentle word. These simple actions contribute to a culture where every child feels valued, connected, and safe.

Let’s keep kindness at the heart of everything we do.
