Principal's Message

Dear Parents
Welcome Back to Term 3
I hope everyone has enjoyed a restful and enjoyable holiday break and has had the opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends. We are looking forward to welcoming all our students back for another exciting term of learning, growth and community.
While our students and staff have been enjoying a well deserved break, there has been plenty happening behind the scenes at St Fidelis.
The school holidays provide a valuable opportunity to undertake maintenance and improvements that are difficult to complete during the busy school term. I am pleased to share that the plaster repairs in our hall have now been completed, ensuring this important gathering space is ready for the many events and celebrations ahead. There is still some painting to be completed in the coming weeks.
We have also been fortunate to acquire an additional room, which we hope to transform into a dedicated music room in the future. This is an exciting opportunity that will further enhance our learning environment and provide our students with even greater opportunities to explore their creativity.
All classrooms and learning spaces have been thoroughly cleaned, vacuumed and refreshed, creating bright, welcoming spaces for our students and staff to return to.
There is still some work to be done around our school grounds, particularly with tidying garden beds and outdoor areas. We hope to hold a Community Working Bee early in Term 4 and would love to see many families join us. It will be a wonderful opportunity to work together, connect with one another and continue caring for the beautiful environment we all value so highly.
As always, thank you for your ongoing support of St Fidelis. It is through the generosity, commitment and partnership of our families, staff and parish community that our school continues to thrive. We look forward to another wonderful term together.
Grandparents or Special Older Person Day – Friday, July 24th
St Anne and St Joachim – The Grandparents of Jesus
As we celebrate Grandparents Day next week, we remember St Anne and St Joachim, the parents of Mary and the grandparents of Jesus. Though we don’t hear about them in the Bible, tradition tells us they were faithful, loving, and devoted to God. Their story reminds us how important grandparents are in passing on faith, love, and wisdom through the generations. Just as Anne and Joachim nurtured Mary and helped form her strong faith, our grandparents play a special role in our lives offering support, sharing stories, and showing us what it means to love deeply. We give thanks for all our grandparents and the special gift they are to our families and community.
We kindly invite you to join us in celebrating Grandparents or Special Older Person Day on Friday, July 24. The morning will begin with a Special Mass at 9:15am to honour the significant role these people play in our lives. After Mass, grandparents and special guests are invited to visit their grandchild’s classroom for a shared activity. The celebration will conclude with morning tea in the hall, kindly organised by our Parents and Friends Association. We look forward to sharing this joyful occasion with our school community.
Census Day - Friday August 7th
Each year, all non-government schools are required to participate in Census Day, which collects information about student enrolments to help determine government funding. This data is provided to the Australian Government and is used for statistical and reporting purposes only.
Please note that a Privacy Collection Notice is available, outlining how your child’s information is collected, used, and protected in accordance with privacy laws. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the school office.
Manuela On Long Service Leave
I will be taking Long Service Leave during Weeks 2, 3 and 4. During my absence, Vira will be stepping into the role of Acting Principal, with the support of Annette and Mick. I know the school will be in very capable hands, and I thank them in advance for their leadership and support during this time.
Have a lovely week
Manuela
