Making ice-cream
Students in Year 2 are studying Earth and space science. As part of the unit, students identified some of the Earth’s resources, including water, soil and minerals, and described how they are used at school and in the home. Last week we looked at how natural resources could be used to create new things. Students used cream, caster sugar, cocoa, ice, salt and plastic bags to make their own ice cream. It is safe to say that everyone had a great time and enjoyed eating the ice cream at the end of the session. The following day students were given an opportunity to write about their experience. They could write a recount, narrative, information report, procedure, etc. The only thing they had to include in their writing was ice cream.

Tutor Music Concert
On Wednesday 13th November, students who take part in the Tutor Music Program at the school participated in the Tutor Music Concert. The concert showcased a wide variety of levels from young beginners right through to advanced students. I feel so fortunate to watch these amazing students grow and develop a love of music. This past year has been full of learning, progress, and accomplishments.
There were more than 50 students that participated in the concert. The concert allows the students to celebrate, not only, what they have, and continue to learn in piano, violin, woodwind, drums and guitar but that they are willing to share this gift with others. It is not an easy task to come up on stage and perform, and the confidence that the students build by learning to do this from a young age is so valuable.
Congratulations!
