What's happening in Boarding?

Bondi Sculptures by the Sea

In week 2, our Tivoli students enjoyed a wonderful day out at Bondi’s iconic Sculptures by the Sea exhibit. With perfect weather and beautiful coastal views, the girls explored the art installations along the cliff walk, marvelling at the creativity on display. Their favourites included the Whimsical Turtles by artist Davin Kindrick and the popular Banana Shark sculpture by Ken Unsworth, which drew lots of smiles and photos!

Afterwards, the group headed to Bronte Beach for a refreshing swim in the ocean, with everyone agreeing that it was the highlight of the day. On the way back, we made a quick stop for a late lunch and picked up some costumes the Halloween dinner. It was a delightful day filled with art, sun, and sea — a perfect weekend adventure!

Boarders Birthdays

Happy Birthday to Jenny (Yr 10) who celebrated her birthday on the 30th of October!  The Boarders made it very special and wrote her a lovely card from everyone. The year 10’s also decorated her school locker beautifully with decorations and sweets.

Happy Birthday to Emily (Yr 9) and to Micaela (Yr 8).

Tivoli Afternoon Rec Activities

Beach Swim Tuesday! Tuesday Rec in Term 4 is open to all Boarders and for the past two weeks girls from all year levels have been walking to our local beach and having an optional swim on Tuesday afternoons. What a lovely way to freshen up before dinner and a chance to appreciate the Harbour we call home.

Host Thank You cards

As is tradition,  this week our girls wrote thank you cards to the amazing people who have volunteered to drive them to sport over the previous term. Term 3 hosts were so kind in offering to pick up and drop off girls on the early Saturday mornings and we are as always so grateful for their care and assistance. Cards get mailed out to hosts and the girls are always encouraged  to prepare these small but thoughtful cards of gratitude.

Saturday Sport

Touch: Taylor (Yr 11) has had some successful touch games recently and her team won their game 7-2 against Kincoppal  in week 2 and the following week they beat St Vinnies with a similar score!

Water Polo: Issy (Yr 7) is having a blast in her first season of water polo! She’s discovering that this exciting sport is surprisingly contact-heavy, packed with action and teamwork that keeps her on her toes.

Boarding Developments and Upgrades

Spooktacular Night at Our Halloween Dress-Up Dinner!

Goblins, ghouls, and a whole lot of fun filled the air at our recent Halloween Dress-Up Dinner! The Tivoli Dining Room was transformed into a haunted haven, complete with cobwebs, real pumpkin jack-o-lanterns, and an array of spooky decorations that set the stage for a night to remember. The evening was filled with laughter as senior Boarders led thrilling games, challenging everyone to join in on the fun and earn some sweet treats for their efforts!

Both the Tivoli and Fernbank girls brought their A-game to the costume parade, showcasing a dazzling array of creativity and flair. From cute chipmunks, to fierce jedi's, each outfit was a unique expression of Halloween spirit, complete with sparkles, face-paint, and even a few playful twists that left everyone in awe! Our staff got in on the frightful fun, donning their best costumes, including Greek Goddesses, Pumpkins, Criminals and Psychics.

The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as students and teachers alike showcased their creativity. Dance-offs erupted as everyone battled it out, vying for the title of Best Costume. The moves were as wild as the costumes, with some impressive (and hilarious) dance battles that had everyone cheering!

The themed dinner was a feast fit for a fright fest, featuring delicious skeleton ribs and barbeque bat wings that had everyone coming back for seconds. A special mention goes to our catering team for whipping up such eerie yet delectable dishes that even the pickiest eaters couldn’t resist.

In addition to the fun and feasting, Tivoli House hosted a colouring competition leading up to the event. Talented artists showcased their spooky designs, and the top three entries were awarded prizes during dinner. Congratulations to our winners Charlotte, Lilly and Micaela! You truly brought the Halloween spirit to life with your creativity!

As the night wrapped up, laughter and smiles filled the room, proving once again that Halloween is more than just tricks and treats—it’s about coming together as a community to celebrate in the most enjoyable way possible. We can't wait for next year’s festivities!
