Performing Arts

Music Matters

We have witnessed some fantastic talent and performance opportunities across our Junior School, Senior School, and private tuition programs at the College this week.

Year 5 Choral Concert

A big congratulations to our Year 5 students for their captivating performances at the inaugural Year 5 choral concert. Each class showcased a song, along with the Junior Chorale, culminating in a powerful rendition of Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’, backed by an impressive Year 6 band featuring Nick Belov on guitar, who delivered an outstanding solo, and the dynamic rhythm section of Sean Goaley on bass and James Ulevik on drums. The performance was enhanced by the support of Ms Gan, Mr Saar, Mr Jones, and Mr Cummins, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere that filled the College gym! A special thank you to Mrs Greenwood for her support of this initiative, as well as to the Junior School teachers and parents who came out to cheer on our students.

Investiture

Congratulations and thank you to Mrs Stella Talati and the Senior Concert Band for the magnificent performance they gave at the Investiture Ceremony at The Concourse on Monday. Their musical contributions certainly added to the significance of the event.

Our Performing Arts Festival commenced this week with some of our piano, brass and woodwind students taking to the stage, which some found both challenging and rewarding. Recitals continue tonight with strings followed by more brass, guitars and clarinets next week. All welcome! Please see schedule below for specific timings.

Please note that entry will be via the main foyer on Anderson Street or the Kirk Street gates for parking. The only after school supervision available to students on campus is in the Senior Resource Centre (library).

Instrumental hire

Students who have hired instruments from the College for private home practice are asked to return them to the Performing Arts office by the end of Week 8. Should your son require his instrument for a school performance after this time, he is asked to bring it to the Music Office afterwards.
