Principal message
Dear Students, Families, and Staff,
Following the staffing update shared last week, we are excited to announce that interviews for the next Principal of St. Monica’s will take place this week. As is customary with senior appointments, established procedures will be followed over the coming weeks and we will communicate details about the new appointment as soon as we are able.
Mini Vinnies Conference
Last week, I had the privilege of attending Marist College Bendigo with some of our Mini Vinnies students. They presented exceptionally well, impressing other schools with their skill, poise, and the significant impact of their community work. A heartfelt thank you and congratulations to our students and the dedicated staff, Bron Fieldew and Cassie Polonowita, who support our Mini Vinnies program. For more insights, please check the student report and photos included in this newsletter. One student remarked, “My favourite part of the day was learning about what other schools did. They had such a variety of initiatives, and it was inspiring to see their creativity.”
As you plan, please refer to the ‘Dates to Remember’ section of the newsletter.
Notably, Grandparents Day is scheduled for November 20, from 2:30 pm, with more details to come.
Next Monday, November 11, we will observe Remembrance Day.
During our first break, we will take a moment in our classes to honour those who served.
Let us take a moment to pray:
Dear Lord,
As we gather in remembrance, we honour the sacrifices made by countless individuals who have fought for freedom and peace. Their bravery and commitment inspire us to strive for a better world.
We ask for your protection over all people in our world today, especially those who continue to face conflict and hardship. May your guiding hand be upon them, granting them strength and hope in their struggles.
We pray for healing and unity among nations, that peace may prevail in our hearts and communities. Help us to embrace the vision of Jesus Christ, who taught us to love one another and to seek justice and compassion for all. May we carry this light into the future, working together to build a world where understanding and kindness flourish.
Let us not forget the lessons of the past, but rather allow them to inspire our actions today and tomorrow. May our collective hope for a peaceful future be rooted in love and guided by your grace.
Lest we forget.
Amen.
