Middle Sub School News

Sarah Hill   -  Middle Sub School Leader

Hello Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to Week 4 of Term 4!

I want to start by thanking everyone who contributed to making our recent excursion to Inflatable World such a success! I know there is a great deal that goes on behind the scenes at home, to support students to engage in the lead up. It was an absolute joy to see the students having so much fun, and the day wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of our amazing staff. From supporting students and even jumping on the inflatables with the students, it was a day full of smiles, and we couldn’t have done it without the help of our entire team!

We’ve also very recently had a wonderful incursion with Brainstorm Productions, which was an engaging performance that tied in perfectly with our school’s values. The students were captivated and have been reflecting on the important messages from the show. I hope you were able to engage in follow up conversations with your children around their thoughts on the show, and what they took from it!

A few important reminders and dates:

  • SSG Meetings (Mid-Late Term): These meetings are crucial to reviewing student progress and preparing for the year ahead. Please look out for further information and set up a time with your child’s teacher once notices are sent out.
  • Middle School Awards (Week 9): We’re preparing to celebrate our students’ achievements in both academics and social-emotional growth. More details will be shared soon!
  • Year 6 Graduation (12th December): We’ll share more information about the event soon, but it’s shaping up to be a night to remember for our Year 6 students!
  • Transition to 2025 Classrooms (Week 11): As we prepare for transition week, we’re focused on helping students feel ready and confident as they meet their new teachers and classmates. We’ll be sharing more details soon.
  • Curriculum Day (4th November): This will be a professional development day for teachers, and we’ll update you with more information shortly.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to a productive and exciting Term 4!

Warm regards,

Sarah Hill

Room 16

In Room 16 - Term 4, students focused on nouns, pronouns, adjectives and verbs to increase their use during their writing. Students were engaged and made improvements.

During Maths, students learnt about Statistics and Probability. The focus was on chance and how to handle various data using different techniques such as dot plots, pictographs, pie charts, line graphs. They were engaged and curious with their learning.

Excursion to inflatable world was a fantastic opportunity for the students in Room 16 to enjoy some active fun, build teamwork skills, and create memories with their classmates.
