Analysing

Analysing is looking closely at the choices the author and illustrator made.

Critique

When we critique, we say what we liked or disliked about a test. 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Ask students to read a book. Once they have finished, ask these prompting questions: 

What kind of words did the author use to help you better understand what is happening in the book? (analyse)

What do you like or dislike about the text? (critique)
